The program is not like any other program in the City of New York. This program will prepare patients for weight loss, prepare pre-surgical patients who meet the criteria for surgery and offer a unique support program for post surgical patients. The center is in a palatial setting offering “Manhattan Chic” in Brooklyn. The Center has a “Total Body” approach to weight loss. |

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SURGICAL CANDIDATE
If after having completed six to eleven months of supervised weight loss management, you meet the criteria for and are interested in bariatric surgery; we will be with you every step of the way.
To qualify for either a Gastric Bypass or Gastric Banding, you must weigh 100 pounds above your ideal body weight, have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more and have a medical condition that may improve with weight loss; such as diabetes, hypertension, heart problems, and/or arthritis. You must have attempted previous weight loss efforts and failed and not have any medical, psychiatric or emotional conditions that would prohibit you from surgery.
The program is linked with the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center for those patients that opt for surgery. Brookdale offers a private Bariatric Unit devoted to surgical patients. We offer highly qualified, compassionate staff that are trained to meet the needs of the bariatric patient. The Medical team is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

YOUR INITIAL VISIT
Upon your arrival at our state-of-the-art office, you will be greeted by our Nurse Practitioner and our Clinical Coordinator who will review with you the programs that we have to offer. After your examination, a determination will be made as to what plan is best suited for your needs.
Before you embark on your weight loss program, you will undergo a complete physical by one of our physicians who specialize in weight loss and bariatric care. This examination will include blood work, electrocardiogram, measurement of your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Bioelectrical Impedance
