Brookdale University Hospital's Bariatric Inpatient Unit

After you have had your surgery and the Post Anesthesia Unit (Recovery Room) nurse determines that you are ready to be transported to your room, you will be taken to the Bariatric Unit. Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center's Bariatric Unit was the first of its kind and at this time, the only bariatric in-patient unit in Brooklyn. The new, state-of-the-art, private room unit, which receives both gastric bypass and gastric banding procedure patients, was especially designed with appropriate equipment and furnishings for the patient's comfort and privacy. In addition, a team of compassionate, competent and highly skilled professionals will ensure that all your pre and post surgical needs are met.
